Portside Rules

Portside is a place to share investing ideas, learn from others, and discuss public portfolio information with respect. These Rules explain what we expect from everyone using Portside.

Treat people with respect

Challenge an idea, a post, or a conclusion without attacking the person behind it.

Do not post content that includes:

  • Harassment, threats, intimidation, or targeted abuse.
  • Slurs, hateful conduct, or discriminatory language.
  • Doxxing or attempts to expose someone’s private information.
  • Impersonation or misleading claims about identity, credentials, or affiliation.
  • Repeated unwanted contact or attempts to pressure another member.

Keep information honest

Do not manipulate Portside or present false information as fact.

Do not post content that includes:

  • Fabricating portfolio evidence, account information, performance, screenshots, or credentials.
  • Misrepresenting an investment position, financial relationship, or compensation.
  • Coordinating artificial engagement, follows, or reports.
  • Using Portside to run scams, solicit money, or promote unlawful activity.
  • Presenting content as personalized investment advice, a guarantee, or a promise of returns.

Portside verification confirms the connection and data available through a linked account. It is not an endorsement of a member, their views, or their investing ability.

Use public spaces responsibly

Keep Portside posts and public profile information relevant, lawful, and appropriate for a community discussing investing.

Do not post content that includes:

  • Publishing another person’s private information.
  • Publishing confidential material or content you do not have the right to share.
  • Using public Portside surfaces for unlawful activity.

Reporting a post

Every Portside post includes a Report control. Use it when you believe a post violates these Rules.

We will acknowledge your report and review it under our moderation process. Reporting does not automatically remove content, disclose the reporter’s identity, or determine another member’s standing.

Reported content normally remains available while it is reviewed. We may temporarily limit access to content that presents a serious, immediate safety concern.

What may happen when Rules are broken

Depending on the conduct, context, and history, Instaport may take action that includes:

  • Adding a label or clarification.
  • Requesting a correction or source.
  • Limiting distribution or visibility.
  • Removing content.
  • Limiting posting privileges.
  • Suspending or closing an account.

We do not use reports alone to determine ranking, credibility, or enforcement.
